HIPPO SURF WARRIOR WITH ENCHANTED SWORD THAT TURNED HIS ARM INTO SLIME. GROSS!
Why a hippo? No idea. It was going to be a rhino but I’ve done a lot of those. I finally checked this one off the list of ideas on my phone. I made a personal goal to finish every drawing on the list no matter how dumb it may be. Once the list is complete, Strange Things Art is dunzo.
Checking them off one by one, ya dig? I don’t know why this turned into a hippo though.

Originally on the Facebook poll and it LOST. But I still wanted to draw it.
Was originally just a surfer warrior dude but I wanted to take it further and give it an animal and mystical element. I’ve been watching Adventure Time again lately and I love it.
The texture of the surf board was a lot of fun to do. wanted to give it a wooden feel. One of my favorite artist on Instagram @bodieh draws using this technique. I friggin love his art and how he handles drawing textures. check him out.
Not 100% sold on the color palette. I’m thinking I might revisit it later on down the road. Had a bit of trouble deciding. Think it could be a bit more vibrant. Like a sweet neon green for the slime. Maybe we’ll try some vibrant colors instead of these boring muted colors. I dunno.
